Another Republican says he's going to seek the 9th Congressional District seat held by U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Township.
Gene Taliercio of Troy says he has a better chance to knock off the first-term incumbent Peters in 2010 than the other two declared Republicans, Andrew "Rocky" Raczkowski or Paul Welday.
Taliercio, 42, said the 9th District doesn't need another "politician" in office.

Centuries before X-rays, CAT scans and ultrasounds gave doctors a view inside the human body, the best images medical students often had were illustrations drawn by artists of bodies in a morgue.
The country's oldest hospital has unveiled a new exhibit of rare 18th-century anatomical illustrations, once owned by Benjamin Franklin, that provide a glimpse of how early physicians learned their craft.
The 16 pastel-on-paper drawings were cutting edge in their day.

Peg Wallace of Christina's Epicure has been having wild turkey sightings, in back of the gourmet store on Route 106, off 25A in East Norwich.
"Are they protesting the upcoming holiday perhaps, or maybe they saw the sign that said fresh turkey. One has even roosted in one of our shopping carts," she said.
Ms. Wallace sent photos of the lady turkeys walking up to the entrance of the store.

A pediatric immunologist at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has received a prestigious annual award from the American Philosophical Society, an organization founded in 1743 by Benjamin Franklin.
Jordan S. Orange, M.D., Ph.D., received the Society's Judson Daland Prize on Nov. 13 for his contributions to research and treatment of inherited immune deficiency diseases.
The Judson Daland Prize for Clinical Investigation recognizes outstanding achievements in patient-oriented research.
